SYNOPSYS:Beneath the luminous and liminal Pamir Mountains, changes in family and culture are contemplated. Ethnic Kyrgyz villagers living remotely in Tajikistan are at the margins of Russian, Chinese and American expansionism. Their dreams and grief are voiced amidst idylls and recollections of civil war.

The film is an excellent addition to a visual art collection of a library or museum . The award-winning feature documentary helps us to understand the issues of rise of uncompromising nationalism, discrimination of minorities, Islamic radicalism and the border issues in post-Soviet Central Asia through the stories of two village women – “collateral” victims of a bombing during the civil war in Tajikistan.
