
The national premiere of Janyl Jusupjan’s The Prisoner of Wakhan took place in Osh, south Kyrgyzstan in the framework of the V Forum of Female Filmmakers of Kyrgyzstan run by Asel Juraeva. Many migrants from the Murhgab region of Tajikistan participated. Murghab was the winter pasture of the Kyrgyz nomads while Wakhan – the summer pasture before the area was divided between Russia, Great Britain, and China in the early XX Century.
